Bahamas tourism has been so attractive to people all over the world. Many people love to enjoy their holidays in Bahamas for its great and natural environment and its friendly people residing in the environment. In this blog post, I will be discussing five growing trends in Bahamas tourism.

Heritage Tourism:

The Bahamas is a place that is rich in history. As time passes by, that’s the more people visits Bahamas and love to know about the people and what makes them Bahamian.

Despite the various monuments and museums that is open to the public daily. One of our major challenges in the growing trends in Bahamas tourism is the maintenance of these properties year round and even during the off tourism season.

However, there are solutions around this problem and one of them is by keeping the history through the people and its various programs like “People to People.” With programs like this, visitors now have a “one on one” contact with persons who can give them an accurate understanding of the life in the Bahamas and overall add value to Bahamas tourism.

Sustainable Tourism:

Bahamas is known has a country where protection of wild life and the natural resources is held with high esteem. The Bahamas National Trust in conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism and the Harvard School of Design emerges in order to design a sustainable tourism form for the island of Exuma’s Land and Sea Park.

Some the oldest fossils can be found on the island as well as a number of endangered species of plants and animals situated on the mainland and many on the surrounding Cays. This model is the first of its kind ever to be adopted in the Bahamas and anywhere within the Caribbean. My hope is that there will be more sustainable models such as this to soon follow on the other islands of the Bahamas and the Caribbean.

Adventure Tourism:

Bahamas is always known as an adventurous country. There is always action around you if you’re willing to look and find it. From power sailing, to game fishing, jet skiing, yachting, off roading, sailing, hiking, camping, and even cave diving. Shortage of adventure is never in the Bahamas and its becoming more popular with young travelers and adventure enthusiast.

Luxury Tourism:

When you think of luxury it’s no brainier when resorts such as Atlantis and Ocean Club come to mind. But in today’s luxury I think that it’s safe to say that its 100% targeted at the needs of tourists and making sure that there every need and desire is met. All of these resorts in Bahamas mainly will offer generally the same thing. You can rent a vacation home or a suite during your stay in this resorts and hotels.

Culinary Tourism:

It’s not doubt that culinary is one of the growing trends in Bahamas tourism. Whenever coming to an attractive country like Bahamas, one would always thinks of visiting the best restaurant or within the resort and enjoying a good 5 star meal.

But the latest trend in Bahamas tourism right now for many of the guest is to fully immerse themselves in the taste of the culture which range from taking cooking lessons about the country’s cuisine with “Tru Bahamian Food Tours” or by attending a food festival like “Devour the Beach” in Abaco where you’ll find that both events are hosted by top chefs on the island and give you a wonderful introduction of Bahamian cuisine.
